Leather Gloves, Work Gloves and Winter Gloves

Leather gloves, work gloves and winter gloves are the most versatile of accessories as they are both decorative and functional. Available in a wide variety of styles and colors and liners from fleece to rabbit fur, it can be a downright daunting task to choose one certain type and style. These are the types of gloves I own, and here is how I use each pair:

Leather gloves, available in both men's and women's clothing departments, are available in many styles including driving gloves and motorcycle gloves. Driving gloves tend to be form fitting while biker gloves tend to be padded and often fingerless. When purchased as gifts, leather gloves are suitable for Father's Day, Mother's Day or other gift giving occasions such as retirement or as executive Christmas gifts. Always consider the recipient when purchasing leather gloves as you wouldn't want to them for a fuzzy mitten kind of person.

Work gloves are usually purchased without much consideration for style. But depending on the job, the style of work glove can have a big impact on the job at hand. For instance, gardening gloves don't need to be made from heavy fabric. But try wearing thin cotton gloves to cut firewood and you'll be wishing you had paid attention to the material! Work gloves certainly are not the typical wedding gift but they are suitable for unique gift giving ideas such as retirement or a birthday.

Winter gloves come in the largest variety of styles and are a suitable gift for almost anyone, especially children. They are worn for warmth and comfort and can add a dash of flair to the dreariness of winter. Men's, women's and kid's winter gloves are available in every color of the rainbow. Many winter gloves are waterproof making them ideal for winter holiday gifts. Typically they are made of fabrics, including fleece gloves, that provide the ultimate in warmth and comfort.

Whether being purchased for oneself, a stocking stuffer or as a unique gift, the situation in which the glove will be used is the most important consideration.
